Modular Kitchen - our client at Behala, kolkata

Kitchen is the space within the house that most of the ladies love to feel and utilise the space in the most optimal manner. Modular kitchen is a concept of interior design which ensures right utlisation of space by creating drawers of varied sizes and shapes to adjust the needed stuffs in the kitchen . In traditional indian kitchen the diversity of utensils and containers in order to fit the needs of daily household chores from cooking perspective need to be kept in mind. this might seems pretty simple to start with , but it impresses a homemaker only when the combination of bottle pull outs, a tall unit, right set up of aptly sized drawers and shelves hold their presence in perfect ratio .

You can just have customers asking for shelves to accommodate varied sizes of woks, and it may be of paramount importance just because the food cooked utilizes this utensil the most. Few customers are obsessed about mid sized pots and the way same gets acomodated need to be understood before finalizing the combination of drawers, shelves etc within the entire modular kitchen offering.

Bottle pull out is a major stuff and mostly we prefer to have just one unit of bottle pull out, but on couple of instance , when we understood the customer requirement , we ideated to have to unit of bottle pull out. now that may sound crazy as it rightly did to me on that instance when we were finalizing the designs, but the continued customer reviews and happiness on the client even today is something that makes us remain Self critical when finalizing design. We are facilitators not customers, we must understand what customer need is and align designs accordingly. In fact the way things get organized in drawers is ideally suited for bigger containers, but when you have smaller family , the concept of bigger container just does not hold relevance.

Cutlery, dish units are just simple to be created, and most of the time we see we end up putting more dimensions in terms of height than what is needed. This is again not right mindset when we invest into our customer thought process and try to understand what sized plates they are preferably using. Especially the modern dinner sets are not as large as we used to have in traditional household, so using the right dimension for drawers is something that can differentiate the delivery quality we will end up with.

Non the less , we expect customers to open up on so many aspects, but the only way we can make our customers open up is having a regular dialogue. We do not get into the mindset of rigid design finalization , we seek input at every stage during execution phase, since we do not get into that ready made assembly delivery model of modular kitchens. We have seen many customer changing mind during execution phase in terms of combination of shelves and drawers, this flexibility can come up only when we do full development of each element of modular kitchen right on the site. Customers are common people and they do not have that much of visualization of what our 2D and 3D designs show them. They get the right insights when we start fitting things, and flexibility to adapt and adjust to customer needs during the same is what differentiates us.

Customer do not need to be influenced to make them understand the importance of Kitchen being made with profound passion. It is a journey where we make them realize the value of having Interior designers like us who do not just do a job, but excite our customers.

Space utilization along with rejuvenated mind is what the interior design of kitchen need to ensure. We have been successful in transforming a closed kitchen into semi open with no door, yet bringing in privacy to a great extent for our customer @Behala, Kolkata

Furnishings Selection for interiors

Designing does not finish without proper finishing of the interiors of any house.  Finishing means the final touch of improvisation on top of due diligence and months of hard work right from Project initiation, to planning then execution stages. This is where home furnishing plays a pivotal role. Unless this last touch hits bulls eye the aesthetics do not come out at its beautiful best.  We have been doing interiors for years but when it comes to the selection of furnishings, sense of complacency starts hitting our delivery team.  It has been pretty evident in all my projects that people both from interior designs to client stakeholders start getting tired as well as in a state of feel good that misses starts seeping in the final touch.  But we believe it's not over unless the handover stage is complete. We have spent hours and at times days in finishing the final selection of furnishings by assessing the contour and contrast aspect in the look and feel.  Simple...

How to decorate the corner of a room

How to decorate the corner of a room ?  Sounds interesting and at the same time very important.  It becomes very simple and easy to replicate the earlier experience in the flats having just four simple corners in it. Or is that really as simple as that ? There are few awkward corners in a bedroom and few are really awesome design elements rather simple room corners. How about corner being bridged by a small wall width to a big size window. I mean those are just amazing situation to be in as a designer. You can have a nice bench like set up adjoining the windows starting from the room corner. Though , this just popped out run time here, seems neurons has its own algorithm to visualize the beauties a bedroom corner can generate.   How about a corner with two walls having windows pretty close on both sides. That is stunning in my opinion. Not just because it illuminates the corner beautifully but also the way the corner can be decorated with something that has brig...
